Chinese dragon

It's been a stressful few weeks so I thought I'd get out of the rubble that is my flat now that the builders have moved in and walk into town. On Albion Street I came across a lost looking man with a map. "Can I help?" I ask. Within seconds I've become the tour guide and friend of a Mexican neuroscientist called Jesus. We spend the next couple of hours doing the tourist thing, visiting the town hall, the cathedral and the pub that was moved from one part of the city to another-(apparrently twice, according to an old lady manning the Cathedral front desk-the first time it did the move on rollers). Heading past the Yadgar curry cafe, we wandered around the Northern Quarter's hip shopping centre before strolling on to Castlefield canal basin.
In Chinatown we stop for me to take a quick shot of this dragon that looks magical in the half-light. Wonder when Chinese New Year takes place? It kind of felt like a small celebration after the difficult week I've been having to be out in town having a pleasant afternoon in the company of a new friend.
Glad we've reached the weekend at last!
