'Ben's Final Melbourne Gig - 2014'

Backblipping as we arrived home too late last night to think about uploading.

Brilliant night out to see Ben Kelly & The Jungle Rhythms Tribe at the Sooki Lounge in Belgrave. We dropped off the kids to Aunty Leng's house at around 5:30pm stayed with them for about an hour and then headed up into the hills, just the two of us. Bliss.

First stop was at Kelly's Bar & Kitchen in Olinda for a quick dinner. The place was booked out, but the staff were very friendly and squeezed us in as long as we were out of there by 8pm. That was fine with us, we shared a couple of platters and then headed down the road to Belgrave.

Ben had arranged to play his last Melbourne Gig for the year with the full band including a DJ Grubie McB. It worked really well and it was actually just like having an additional musician in the band filling in with 'Solos' and sound effects.

Everyone was certainly enjoying the night and plenty of people up on the dance floor.

Great to be able to go along as a couple for a change, but we had to sneak out at around 11:30pm while the party was just heating up as we had about a 45 minute drive home.
