Thistle Down

By Ethel

To Stand

O it would be such ease,
To go and stand.
And cast my eyes,
Upon the land.

For there's comfort there,
When one just sees.
The land that's plowed,
And embanked by trees.

To know that spring,
Will make it green.
And give me cause,
To look around and glean.

To let the cows wander,
All over the fields.
That nothing be lost,
In a glorious yield.

For its good to stand,
And vision your sum.
Showing proof to your eyes,
Of the blessings that come.
