Stunning Salford

Today the four of us went on a trip to Salford. We went over the moors via Glossop - which was standstill busy. The moors however were stunning - the hills covered in purple heather and edged by yellow wild flowers were just gorgeous. Wish I'd stopped to take photos.
Our trip was taken primarily to go to see War Horse at The Lowry. It was absolutely fabulous! (Three of us had seen it before in London some years ago.) I believed the horses were real. We also nipped into the Imperial War Museum North - spent most time in the WW1 exhibition. Moved by the bravery and courage of those involved. There was also a letter from three young children to the War Office asking that their pony, Betty, not be taken to the war. (She was two small so wasn't) Enjoyed taking photos of the amazing modern architecture and bridges around Salford Quays.
On the moors on the way back we saw three hovering kestrels (sounds like the name of a public house!) Good day.
