Back home - some of the habits learnt many years ago on the farm have obviously stuck - as we've grown older we've become keener & keener to try and grow our own food - and this is the time of year when we get to reap the rewards.
For tea tonight I think only the meat on the plate won't have come out of our garden - potatoes, cabbage, carrots, garlic & now - my particular favourite trip down memory lane - runner beans. In another week or so we'll have to start blanching them for the freezer - got to make sure some of the Christmas day veg is ours too!
