Gleaming Spires?

Today, we went in to Aberdeen to see our son and this photograph is taken from his third floor flat.
Aberdeen is well known as the Silver City or Granite City.
It is also famous as the oil capital of Europe.
Less well known is that Aberdeen has promoted the idea of growing trees in chimneys. A couple of examples are seen in the photo.
Some of the popular varieties are beech, elm and apple.
Local legend has it that it was during a visit to Aberdeen that an apple fell from a great height on to Isaac Newton, leading him to cry out in anguish and to formulate the law of gravity.
The city also employs a helicopter firm to water the "chimney trees" during dry periods.
It has to be this great song. I've always liked it and I think this version is pretty good.
