Lichen

As I was cutting the grass this afternoon, I noticed a twig from one of the walnut trees laying on the grass and was fascinated by the wonderful textures, colours and shapes of the lichen on it. Another area had a beautiful orange colour which I will save and photograph at a later date. I'd never taken much notice of lichen or mosses before which is a pity as they are so interesting and such lovely colours.
We had a little rain this morning but after I'd done my supermarket shop the grass was dry again so I've just spent an hour and a half behind the lawn mower.
