Sorbus acuparia

Commonly called rowan and mountain-ash.

This newly planted tree blossomed heavily a couple of months ago.
It is now heavily laden with berries, which will ripen soon and feed many bird species we hope.

Fruit and foliage of the Rowan have been used in the creation of dishes and beverages, as a folk medicine, and as fodder for livestock.
The tough and flexible wood of the Mountain Ash has traditionally been widely used for woodworking.
