Band of Life

Seemed fitting to mark Liverpool's first game of the new season with this shot. Commissioned by the Mayor of Liverpool from artist Julian Taylor, the band contains 96 separate lamps - each representing one of the dead at Hillsborough. But the circle is also a show of strength and a representation of community and bringing people together.

The setting in the Chapter House of the Anglican Cathedral couldn't be better - a quiet space to reflect and an imposing one, too.
