Now, as I see it......

Tiger Moths

Thanks for all the comments on my Blip yesterday - what I thought was a quick 'emergency blip' seems to have been appreciated!

There are only two remaining airworthy Lancaster Bombers, one in England and the other in Canada. The Canadian plane is in the UK for two months so there is a unique chance to see two of these wonderful planes in flight together. Along with countless other people that is what I hoped to see today, flying alongside a Hurricane and a Spitfire, but it was not to be. The conditions were too windy to risk them flying so their programme for the day was cancelled. I still went along to the venue though; the annual gathering of Tiger Moths at Woburn Abbey.

I loved the look of this plane in particular; I could just imagine Jimmie Angel flying in something that looked like this when he discovered Angel Falls in Venezuela. It also reminded me of some of the old films with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, who sadly passed away this week. If you are partial to the odd Tiger Moth, there are a few more here.
