Scottish Diaspora Tapestry
Chrispics arrived today to spend a few days festivalling with me. We started off with the Phoebe Anna Traquair Song School murals which we had tried to see two years ago but failed over and then we looked at the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry in St Mary's Cathedral. I liked this panel but I've forgotten how it fitted the diaspora theme. Maybe the Scottish born Italians took ice cream back to Italy? Doesn't sound very likely, but they say that truth is stranger than fiction. Maybe I will have to go back to check. Later we went along to the Book Festival in Charlotte Square to hear James Naughtie speaking about his spy thriller The Madness of July. A well-spent first day.
Back-blipped from 17th August.
