Newcastle life

All Saints Church

Today, my husband went to work and I went into town at 9am. Everywhere was eerily quiet, hardly any cars or pedestrians around. I walked down to the Quayside and went to my favourite breakfast spot, Quay Ingredients. I love the building it stands in on Queen Street, a grand Georgian building- with the Tyne bridge built ABOVE it! I'll have to blip it another day. Had some soft boiled egg with toast soldiers and a coffee. Despite the streets being deserted this cafe is always full with a queue so couldn't linger too long as people were eyeing up my seat! I then had a walk along the Quayside and a browse at the Sunday morning market before making my way back towards the town centre. I walked up King Street and decided to take a photo of the view up between the town houses towards All Saints' church. I've never been inside this church but always look at it (and usually check the time) when I cross the Tyne bridge.
I then had a wander around town and to some of the shops. At Grey's monument their were lots of cooking stands and food stalls as part of the "Eat" event. I got a drink and sat outside in Eldon Square reading my novel.
My husband finished work and we had lunch before going on a 2 hours guided walk of Newcastle Central station with Newcastle city guides. It was really interesting to hear about the history of the station being built and have all the interesting features that I'd never noticed before pointed out. I took some photos but decided not to blip them as they looked a bit messy due to construction work at the station and all the football fans (it was a Newcastle match today). Afterwards we went for a drink at Revolution, this is a really beautiful building (and an enjoyable spot for a mojito!). Afterwards we went to Bolam Lake for a walk, after seeing a fellow blippers pics from there. It was a great place for a walk and we saw 2 pheasants (unfortunately they were quicker than it takes me to get my camera out!), although the weather had turned and was getting rather cold and windy so we headed home. Its a close place but really feels like the countryside so we plan to have another walk there later in the week (and no doubt this will be the site of a blip!)

So after 2 days of having nothing to blip, I now have a camera full of photos and can only blip one. I went for my early morning shot of All Saints church as it shows a calm, quite bit of the city and will remind me to investigate the church more closely on a later date.
