Miss E loves reading!
The other day we were having a conversation in the car about trees walking towards us and she told me not to be silly, trees can't walk!
I told her that some can.
Ents can.
The rest of the journey was taken up me explaining The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit to her. It's been a few years since I've read them but it all came flooding back and we were soon immersed in Middle Earth!
She asked if we had the books and I told her that we did.
Mr K and I each have our own copies of The Hobbit, I have a copy of Lord of the Rings which has Papa's name in it and the date 1975 and Mr K has his own copy too.
You can consolidate a lots of things when you move in together but not the books!!
Miss E was very keen to make a start on The Hobbit but I wasn't sure it was quite suitable yet - this is the child that gets scared by Tinkerbell! But she was so excited to get going on one of Mummy and Daddy's favourite books that I gave it to her.
Mr K read the first chapter to her which she loved and today she carried on with it. They've just spent a couple of weeks at the Last Homely House and are off into the mountains. As I recall things are about to get scarier so we'll see how she gets on!
Lots of tidying today, delicious smoothie making, yummy roast chicken with - though I say it myself - sensationally good roast potatoes, Frozen, a new aquarium pump, half an hour on the exercise bike, more or less happy children.
A good day!
