A Watched Pot Never Boils

And it would seem a watched sunflower never opens. I have been waiting for what seems like weeks for these sunflowers to open. I have rescued them from falling over during last weeks heavy rain and propped them back up with a trellis to lean on, but still they are not opening and the nights are getting cooler. I have fertilized and watered and nurtured as much as I do, hope they will soon be open.
