The Mrs and I rushed madly to leave the house after work in order to start our two hour journey to Palmerston North to pick up her cousin's daughters and all together start the remaining four hour journey to Lake Rotoiti for her uncle's 75th birthday party.
As the light was beginning to fade, and I had no idea when I would get a chance to stop and blip something, we pulled off the motorway at the Kapiti coast at a lookout point that overlooks Kapiti Island. I got out and snapped a few pictures and we headed on. If we would have stayed just thirty minutes longer, we would have seen this turn into one gorgeous sunset. The Mrs took a few pictures on her iPhone as we were driving. One of them is here.
Too bad we had time constraints. We all arrived at 11:39pm - just in time to sleep for a few hours before the festivities began.
I will be a little late in updating my blips as I did not bring the laptop on the trip and still have a good amount of photos to cull through. Please, if you are an avid follower, bear with me for the next few days.
Thanks,
TMM
