VCR Repair

A good friend relies on her VCR for much of her and her grandson’s entertainment.

It quit on her.

She wondered aloud about replacing it and I mentioned that I like to tinker.

It has been probably 15 years since I last worked on a VCR, luckily this one was older than that.

A very enjoyable hour spent discovering the broken drive belt, gluing it back together, and reassembling the unit.

I told her, “If it was an airplane I probably wouldn’t fly in it, but it’ll be fun to see how long it plays with the spliced belt.”

She was happy and so was I.

A win / win deal.
