The British Countryside (backblip)

I was good to see some sunshine today between the showers ....... it looked almost like Summer ..... until you stepped outside! It was really windy ...... chilly too!

We decided to go for a drive around the countryside ...... see some trees & fields for a change!

We spotted this harvester working away ....... so Hubby stopped the car so I could get a shot. A bit further along we found a public footpath that looked as if it led into a small wood. So we parked the car & set off ....... on reaching the wood there was a sign showing that the 'footpath' went round the outside of the wood! It is so disappointing ...... but so often happens round here. So much of the woodland is 'private'!

Still there were lots of Dragonflies about .... this one was kind enough to land fairly close ...... so I managed to get a reasonable shot of it. There were a lot of these plants growing along the side of the path ...... don't know what they are .... but the bees seemed to love them.
