Neo-geek
My friend Sarah and I have coined the phrase 'neo-geek'. It is meant to describe those of us (we include ourselves) who now work with technology but have no interest in all the awkward stuff like code. Web 2.0 tools, new hardware and software mean that we don't have to know how it works to use it. We class ourselves as people who can now see the benefit of using the tools that do what we want.
This is my new tablet PC that I have just opened. Many people will have seen the launch of the ipad. This tablet does some similar stuff, you can use a special pen to write on the screen, the screen is a touch screen etc - but it also has a keyboard. This is technology I can get excited about.
The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom. ~Isaac Asimov, Isaac Asimov's Book of Science and Nature Quotations, 1988
