View from the front yard!
Following yesterday's theme of walking our from the door, we found ourselves heading up the hillside on the opposite side of the valley. The route climbs up high above the valley floor and then crosses under spectacularly rugged mountain peaks, forming a huge cirque where a glacier used to be, to a lake (Piper's paradise), before dropping down alpine pastures where natural springs form and marmot families are in residence. Every turn of the path had something to capture the eye and we delayed our descent as long as possible to make the most of the evening rays. The view looks back across the valley up towards yesterday's mountains as the sun's rays are lengthening. Spot the dog on the right hand side. A glorious route!
