A date with destiny

No doubt lots of people will share copies of the polling cards which are dropping on to doormats across Scotland in the lead up to the independence referendum on 18th September.

We'll vote, as we always do, by post. This will mean we'll have cast our vote long before the in-person polls open. We're looking forward to doing so and I expect, like many others, will be pleased when the campaigns close and it's over to the people of Scotland to decide.

Before then, in these next few weeks, thousands across Scotland will work to try to ensure their side of the argument prevails. Spare a thought for these folks, who have given their time voluntarily, to argue the toss for the Scotland they believe in, and for the Scotland they want to see long after September 2014.
