Prison art

Today we've been to Ile Sainte Marguerite which is 15 minutes by boat off the coast of Cannes.

The blip is of a painting by a man named Jean Le Gac. In 1992 he volunteered to be imprisoned to allow him to pursue his art. The results are to be seen on the walls of some of the cells of the prison.

The prison is also the place where the 'Man in the Iron Mask' was imprisoned during the reign of king Louis XIV.

A very interesting island and a lovely day!
