Black Boy, Stirling

The fountain which sits in the Allanpark area of Stirling is a very well-known and much-loved local landmark. This was manufactured by the Neilson Foundry of Glasgow.
The fountain was originally erected to commemorate those from Stirling who died in the Black Plague. It was recently restored in 1997.
In the 17th century this area was outside the city walls and was a place of public execution and burial known as the 'Gallous Mailing'.
