The coves and bays
Today I really discovered the pros of not going to the beach! As I've said before, the bay of Lapad has loads of areas to jump/swim off that aren't necessarily a beach, but are actually better for the kind of swimming and relaxing that I want to do. The water is so clean, and also really buoyant with a little bit of a current to fight against. Not for a weak swimmer, or one that doesn't know the water very well...but for me it was perfect. It gave me the opportunity to explore some of the grottoes from sea-eye view, so to put it. At one point myself and what looked like a guillemot held eye-contact for quite a while before I was the one to head off and break that contact.
This photograph was taken after I swam, when my parents and I headed along one of the coastal paths...the concentration of this dog on whatever was in this sea-pool was hilarious. Even after five or so minutes it hadn't moved position...perfect for me trying to take a photograph. You can see the clearness of the water, and also the contrast between the sea and this little pool.
