The Launch

There's nothing like the anticipation of leaving (in 2 days) for your first year of college. Doing your best to think of everything you'll need, preparing yourself for an entirely different experience than you've had so far, yet in so many ways the same. Hard to imagine, really...until you're there.

But think of the shock, when you were just kidding around with your teacher, when you applied...to Yale. Seriously, you never expected to get in. You had other plans, and you'd prayed for direction, and did your best not to worry about it. But when the door to your other plans closed, and the door to Yale opened, well, that changes everything. Everything....like....EVERYthing!

As long as I've known you, you've worn that sweet smile. And now you're going to rock the other coast with that smile, and with your awesome intelligence and beautiful faith. Thanks for letting me have a slice of your precious time, as you prepare for launch. Excited doesn't begin to cover it. I'll look forward to the stories, and the pictures and I'll be cheering you on, along with your family and friends. I have a feeling this is going to be amazing!
