Water off a ducks back

So yesterday, remember when i wrote how all 3 boys were amazing and happy- it was just a once off. Clearly i was too hopeful that their happy sides would continue to shine through today- NO! I was wrong. It was back to 'i don't love you anymore, i'm not your friend, im not listening to you, im going to run away' and that was just from Marley.

Kanye was alright until he shouted at me for dinner so he got sat in timeout, it brought the waterworks and the continuous sob that seemed to last until Andre got home when him and Marley ran into his arms sobbing.

Marley started telling Andre i had been mean to him and put him in timeout (his behaviour went a little too far so got put in the hallway for 5 minutes). Andre looked at me with a face i can only describe as ' so, good day then?' He needed not to say a word to know how my day was- but i was actually alright.

Some days i get really frustrated when the boys just don't let up but today when they did it was just water off a ducks back (which i think made them a bit more miffed at me).

I had a great day despite getting 3-4 hours sleep total last night, Harper had an awful night and kept squirming and grizzling every 5 minutes, he then wound up being awake from 2-330am- not cutie cute.

Kanye woke at 5 am as he had soaked the bed so Andre got up and changed him and put him to sleep on the couch. When i woke this morning i didn't need to look in the mirror to know how my face looked because it felt like it was going to fall off from tiredness however after a coffee the rest of the day picked up.

I cleaned up the house and one of my fellow blippers The painters wife came to visit. She always brings treats which is cheeky but very lovely. We had an awesome catch up!

Marley was funny this morning, when mum arrived to be here for kanye he said to her ' nanny this is my dad, come meet my dad' he motioned her to actually go meet Andre despite having known him for the past 6 years.

I managed to fit in writing emails to my boys today, i try to at least once a month or when something happens. When i write to them i think about when they're older and are going to be reading them, i want them know what their childhood was like and its also a great way for me to keep track of any milestones and events.

This is an excerpt of the one i wrote to Marley today just to give you an idea about what i write.

Anyways, me and dadda want you to be happy- not make us happy, we want you to enjoy life and do what you love. We try to teach you that's its ok to be angry or sad but always talk to us, we might not be able to help your problem or make you feel better but you know what sometimes the way to find an answer to something comes from talking to someone else, by bouncing your problems or ideas off us. We are ALWAYS here for you and we will always take your problems seriously, we will always help you and while we cant always fix things for you we can help you find a way to fix it.


I keep these emails private usually as they belong to them, my words and my feelings. It goes along the same lines as me not posting pictures of my kids nudey- there's a line there that shouldn't be crossed, i mean by all means i might show my family a funny pic of mar vacuuming nudey but i wouldn't let that loose to the world for everyone to see. I may be their parent and essentially run their lives at the moment but i strongly believe that they are their own person and as such have rights to privacy too. I want to keep their dignity and for them to learn to have respect for themselves and for their bodies.

Anyways, moving on. We had some great news yesterday that Andre will be doing a lot more overtime starting September but the majority of it will be working from home.

So he'll do his regular shift during the day then for a week every 6 weeks he'll do a 630-10pm shift from home, his weekend shift which is every 6 weeks too they've added the Sunday again which they had taken out and that can be from home too- so awesome THIS is me when Andre told me. Yay for extra income, or as Andres boss put it- money for jam (which i might add makes me obligated to make jam with said extra income) .

This afternoon was a bit hectic towards Andres home time but i got through it- with the yummy slice the painters wife brought me.

I'm trying out a new dinner/bed routine as i've been finding things were getting later and later and with Andre needing to be partially absent for his extra shift every now and then i thought we'd do things differently- So dinner at 530, showers for the boys after that- Andre puts kanye to bed at 630 with meds and story, Mar to do homework with me from 630- 7 then 15 minutes ipad, teeth and story. 730 bed for him lights out at 8.
Harper usually goes to bed between 730-8.

Tonight was a success! So i'm really pleased.

Its been a great day and now i get to sit and knit(im having to start again just so you know Harper found my knitting and had a great time unraveling it) and have a barkers hot blackcurrant which is like the new black for me - i love it.
