La Feria De Malaga 2014

Another busy day! I slept horribly, with retless legs keeping me awake again. Well, that and a lot of things weighing on my mind. I woke up at 5am, but managed to go back to sleep, and didn't get up till 11:15am!

I had a nice breakfast (my favourite Choco All Bran- no idea why you can't get it over here?), and then got ready to go out. We planned to go to Malaga today and have a wander and do some shopping. I made the mistake of checking my Facebook, only to find something that upset me- cue the whooshing in my chest and pins and needles down my arms. One of those moments where I can't think straight. But I can't fall apart, my mum is here and I have to keep up a reasonably cheerful front for her. Plus I refuse to keep inflicting, albeit indirectly, this emotional pain on myself. As I was getting dressed, I thought: You can let this ruin your day, or you can go and enjoy yourself and be happy like you planned. I chose the latter.

We took the train into Malaga. We couldn't sit together, but it gave us the opportunity to eavesdrop on the conversations going on around us!

It is about 40 degrees here every day, and I absolutely love it! As we walked along, I could feel the sun on my back, and this makes me never want to leave.

Every August they have the "Feria de Malaga" or Malaga fair, which takes place in the city. Historically we have always avoided the exact days, but it lasts for a week during the third week in August. There was lots going on, things I hadn't seen before. We came across a group of singers/instrument players, all in traditional dress, singing with a group of little girls dancing in the middle. We stood and watched for a few minutes, the littlest one was so cute! We also saw another group doing the spanish version of the Hokey Cokey! With adults....

We stopped for a drink, and an Ensaimada. I love them, but they could be part of the reason I have put on 3 pounds...

We realised the shops were all shut, and when I googled it. we discovered that even though they'd had a bank holiday weekend, this was also a dia de festivo. I was a bit irritable, and didn't really want to stay. It was a shame as last year we spent a whole day there, just bar hopping and talking. It was perfect.

We caught the train back about 4pm and stopped at Plaza Mayor. We had frozen yoghurt that tasted just like Smooy, but the shops were all shut there too so we toddled back to the train.

Home for bikinis, sun, TV and extremely slow internet time. Mum sat out on the roof and read. We had planned to go up town again for a drink, but Mum was a bit worried as I'm going home tomorrow. I hate leaving her too, neither of us are very tough! Luckily my dad and I were crossing in the air, so he should be there by the evening as I go home.

In the end we had tea and toast, and watched a bit of Frasier on an old tape of Gramps's. We ended up on mum's bed chatting about family, and life until we finally went to bed about 2am.

I kind of want to go home tomorrow. I've missed my home, and Little B, but I shall miss the weather, and mostly my mum! But I've got stuff to get straight, and I always feel better if I get moving with it. Unfortunately it means trying to solve the same problem.....

Ooh, forgot to mention, I am going to Creamfields :-) ! Life's too short!
