"SNAIL MAIL - POST EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS!"

Just noticed this freshly painted Royal Mail letterbox today which has probably been there for at least 78 years. GR on the box apparently means that it was made during the reign of King George V who was on the throne from 1910 until his death in 1936.

It's in the same quiet country lane a few miles from my home and beside my "QUIET REFLECTION" blip of 16th July.
