Finally had a day out today and we opted for Africa Alive! We were so lucky with the weather; lots of sunshine and clouds and just as we were leaving there were few spots of rain. The girls seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves with giraffes and meerkats being the firm favourites. Got back to the holiday home and went for a walk before dinner. Saw a house for sale that we really liked the look of and ended up having a serious conversation about moving or getting a mortgage to buy it. The only way we could justify buying it is to rent it out as a holiday home which is something neither of us really wants to do. We would rather have somewhere that we could go to whenever we felt like, rather than having to wait until it was free. And then having to decorate and fix things that others have marked or broken. Plus Mr S didn't like the thought of strangers sleeping in his bed. So we have put it on the back burner and will discuss it again when he get's his retirement package or his inheritance from his parents, whatever comes first. The girls would hopefully have left home so we would be saving an absolute fortune by then!!! Oh well, it's good to have future plans.
