In The Building

That's what Larkin called a hospital: the building. My irrepressible cousin/friend was in for a few days. Nothing too serious, and it forced him to take a break from his relentless work schedule (he's an artist/painter and teacher). He has landed a very nice room to himself. We had a great talk, squared away in some dim corner of the maze that is St. Vincent's, on the third floor, the twilight deepening outside what might well be a hotel or apartment window, were it not for the drip-stands and other paraphernalia.
