It's a jungle out there

I've been chopping back the climbing things that grow up the house (one is a rose but I can't remember what the other green things are) in order to give any hopeful Blue Tit family a clear landing approach to the nesting box. I emptied it out and gave it a clean while I was up the ladder. One of the chicks didn't make it. I guess it is pretty common to see something like this as evidence of Darwinism.
