Loaded!
We walked across the Links this morning, with a view to indulging in a scone. Well, that was my view, anyway. We missed the showers, and in between times, it was warm and steamy. We met a few dogs, but none who wanted to play much.
One lady had two dogs, a big bouncy ball chasing hound, and an eight year old Viszla on a lead. She never let it off as she 'didn't trust it'. I think that's a real shame for the dog. I'm sure it would have stayed with its friend, who was a bit of a tease. He would plop his ball in front of Archie, and when Archie made a move, he would snap at him. He did this several times till Archie wised up.
A chap shouted hello from across the road, and made for Archie, asking his name. He knelt down and gave Archie a thorough patting, saying he loved dogs - he had one at home. He had lovely curly salt'n'pepper hair, not unlike Archie's. To my horror, my hand shot out, of its own accord, and patted this curly hair. This should put the chap off patting strange dogs (with strange old biddy owners...)
The cafe was really busy, and Archie found it hard just to lie down and wait for me, as we were right by the door, with constant comings and goings. I had half thought that I might blip my scone and flat white, not having done so for a while, but oops! I had it half eaten before I remembered.
Archie had a fit of barking yesterday evening, probably at Tinkerbelle on the wall. Really ear shattering yapping, and he wouldn't stop. 'Get the gun!' I shouted to JR (who was nearer) hoping the neighbours didn't hear me...
So here's Archie checking out my X-18. We're just back in from the wet, hence the unkempt straggly look, not his usual perfectly groomed self. The gun is not used much now. But it's always loaded.
PS The Shreddies packet is still being played with, and is still as good as new - not a rip or tear anywhere, despite Archie's best efforts. This is amazing material - I'm sure it could be put to better use for the good of mankind than to hold Shreddies.
