The first time ever I saw your face(s)
.. as a young woman and young man. This is my grandmother and grandfather on my dad's side of the family. Born in the 1860s, they married in 1887, had 12 children, 4 of whom died very young. My grandmother lived to the ripe old age of 93.
I found this photo while I was working on my family tree on ancestry.co.uk, having been uploaded to another branch of the tree by a distant relative. Not great quality - it is the photo of a print I downloaded. I do not know where these pictures were taken. They were not rich - my grandpa was a coal miner. Could this even be a wedding photo?
Family history fascinates me - so far I have managed to trace the direct line through my dad back to the late 1600s.
