The Christmas Birthday Cake...
Backblip
A couple of weeks ago when we were struggling to think of a theme for Alan's birthday cake, Marion jokingly said, "well he loves Christmas, why not make it a Christmas theme?" I think she thought we'd laugh at her but given that it's August and he's still listening to Christmas music, we thought it was a brilliant idea! :) and know SOMEONE who will agree ;-))
And HERE it is. Made by a friend's very talented daughter and you will note, still not cut as Alan loves it so much, he won't let us cut it!
The day after the party and we're all remarkably fresh. Thanks to the caterers providing the cutlery, crockery, glassware and clearing it up, there was hardly any mess. Just a quick hoover and the place was back to normal. Brilliant!
Marion arrived to spend the afternoon with Alan (who still hasn't opened any of his birthday presses. That has to wait till later in the week he says (when it's just the three of us). D & K headed off to play golf and Ele, Gail and I headed to Gloagburn for lunch.
Later, after Ele, Kenny, Gail and Marion had left, we tried again to persuade Alan to let us but the cake. Still no.
I am salivating looking at it!!!
