What to select?

For several years now I have been a reader for Talking Newspapers for the Blind. There is a rota of people who get together in teams of three, with two recorders as well, who between them read selected items from the local paper which are then put on memory sticks and sent free of charge to anybody who has trouble reading the paper for themselves. I really enjoy doing this.
Now I have volunteered to be an editor and I had my first session this morning, working with someone who has been doing it for years. The editorial team has shrunk drastically so they asked for help. We spent the morning selecting articles, cutting them out and blue-tacking them onto boards ready for the readers to take over this evening. We had to have two copies of the paper in case selected articles were back to back. Eventually there will be a new rota for this duty as well, and I'm pleased to say they have had a few new volunteers so it won't be every week.
