Day 14: Leaving Your Mark

Today we sail thru Glacier Bay, which was carved out about by glaciers over hundreds of years as they recede into the icefields of North Ameria. When we first arrived, we hardly had any visibility as we were shrouded in a dense fog. But, as it lifted, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the vibrant blue glaciers. The blue color is emitted from the dense, compacted ice that only allows the longer, blue wavelengths of light to escape.

We inhaled the cool, fresh air and were drawn into the quiet solitude of our surroundings.
