Out on a shout

Today we witnessed the wonderful work of the RNLI in action.

We were crabbing off the slipway and a man and his wife were swept off the pier, the lady managed to recover up the steps whilst the man only managed to cling on as he had concussion and a broken femur. The crew battled difficult (extremely difficult) conditions and recovered the man - and then RAF Sea King evacuated them to hospital.

It was impressive and scary to watch - I'm very happy with all the money we spend in the lifeboat shop on our visits. Everyone is a volunteer - which is quite amazing.

Happy to say both casualties are doing well.
