Lundy High

Lundy high, it will be dry,
Lundy low, it will be snow,
Lundy plain, it will be rain,
Lundy in haze, fine for days.

So goes the rhyme to forecast the weather on the North Cornish and Devon coast. I was brought up on a simple version
Lundy High fine and dry,
Lundy low, rain and blow

Today Lundy was high but also plain – few details. Sunny spells and a brisk onshore breeze; the surf was messy and the white horses danced out to sea, very good visibility, rain forecast for later. Well it is a bank holiday coming up!
