Surprise discovery. This clock is a Gustav Becker one possibly from 1920s/1930s. We've only just found this out as we've had it repaired. It was bought on the Isle of Wight in 1985 by my discerning husband, who obviously has an instinct for quality! I liked it before but now it's got a story too...
