SHIRLEY SPARKLES

Had to pop down to the Bank this afternoon and was attracted by the sound of the forty's that was drifting out from the Bandstand on The Grove, as part of The Summer Festival, this event was aimed at the not so young at heart, you could see rows of smiling pensioners enjoying the music, Shirley Britain is a local girl who, some tell me, has a fine voice, asked for a quick photo before she went on stage, I thought £4 for an afternoon of entertainment good value but these three were happy to listen from outside the marquee and save their pennies! Music, sunshine (a little) & alfresco dining, who could ask for more.
