Room with a view

This is the view from my bedroom window where I'm having a wee sit down after my day and before I head out babysitting.
It's been a busy day starting with delivering a very reluctant 4 yr old to school - he was claiming he already learned to read and write himself (which he has more or less) and that it would be better if he stays at home building lego models. Luckily I pulled the " if you go to school you get the learn to read and write even better than you can at the moment" and " if you learn to read well, you will be able to read your Star Wars books whenever you want and not just when Daddy or I want" and "if you can do really good writing of all the letters, you will be able to write exactly what you want on your list to Santa" trick out of the hat. And phew... that was sufficient motivation to get him out of the car and into the queue. Then luckily his pal turned up and he went in smiling! Hooray!
The rest of the morning consisted of a nice coffee with friends, getting rid of bags and bags of stuff to the charity shop and the tip and then collecting a very happy 4 yr old and 8 yr old from school in the sunshine. By the time we got home my inlaws and nephew had arrived from Yorkshire and so the afternoon has gone in a nice blur of tea and chat.
This eve I'm off out babysitting so am taking my frozen DVD as so far the boys have refused to watch it. So I'll take my growing ripple blanket and then I can hook while I watch princesses, I really rock on a Friday night!
