Kongresni Trg, Ljubljana

It hosed down overnight and was still raining in the morning. We ended up 'drying' the tent under the large covered area at the campsite, before deciding to go back to Ljubljana. We hadn't had the time to go to the castle and a damp day seemed a good day to do it. This is Kongresni Trg or Liberation Square as it is sometimes called. You get a great view of it from the tower at the castle. In this square the new Slovenia was 'born' in 1988 and is a beautiful tree lined place to relax and watch the world go by. The castle is a good half day out. We went a bit further north to camp in the rain, and cooked, sheltering at the water point with a couple of Poles, lamenting the weather.
