My 40th year

Derrible Bay

This is looking down onto Derrible Bay as you descend countless steps to get there. The hogs back is behind.

It poured with rain so much this morning that we could not get to our pottery lesson until it stopped. Lorraine who owns and runs Sark Silversmiths and Pottery taught Mark, Mum, India and I how to make a pot on the wheel each with great patience and much hilarity. We had a great morning, Heidi made a bunny magnet and a Christmas tree decoration. Whilst chatting we realised that it was Lorraine's Mum and Nan who used to make the famous bread pudding that I used to buy at The Rendezvous on the Avenue and then spend the rest of the year dreaming about. It honestly was the best in the world, a chunk would weigh about a pound in weight and fill you up all day long, thirty years ago! Lorraine will post our pots in a few weeks when they've been in the kiln.

India and I had a mooch around the gift shops whilst she ate the largest chocolate eclair known to man. We certainly walked it off later in the afternoon as we tried to find Derrible Bay. We haven't been to this beach in years, we knew when we set off that the high tide would be covering it but it was still a great walk. I love being able to see the sea from almost everywhere on this tiny island.

We also saw a little cottage for sale at a bargain price.......
