Daisy Bell
I suspect few will make the (somewhat vague) connection from the Song Title. It was in the charts in 1892 and in 1961, was the first-ever song, sung by a computer. Here a hint for those who haven't yet had a telegram from the Queen.
Over in the morning to Grosskitzighofen, our previous home village, to visit Marlene, Nadja and Alois (who were at our recent party) and for Angie to take a ride out on one of their horses, a Barb (or Berber) and rather unusual. So while Angie & Alois saddled up, the rest of us drove out to try and follow their progress.
Turned out to be near impossible with the mass of very tall maize. The Blip is taken very close to the sight of a very stressful situation I was in back in 1995: Neighbour Sepp got me to help with the Maize silage harvest, meaning I had to drive a tractor and very high sided tralier alongside a harvester blowing the chopped maize out through a tube. I never seemed to be able to match the harvesters speed or judge which part of the trailer was full. Luckily Sepp's brother (RIP) was a very understanding harvester driver. For those who think farm work is relatively relaxed, I can assure you there are stressful times too - Sepp showed me a few over the years!
At one point our ex-coinhabitant Katja together with daughter Tiziana rode by on their wonderful Spanish horses. Good to see them, shame Sascha wasn't driving his carriage! Would have added more variety to the group photo. Two more friends were apparently underway on horseback somewhere close - wretched maize!
A lot of horsey goings on, saw Claudia and daughter after doing some sand school riding, Maria was busy so didn't get to see her, only her (our ex) Silvan who unusually didn't greet us at the fence. He was much too busy getting as much freshly portioned hay down before the other horses came over. He was though looking in great form, at long last saw some muscles and bones we last saw 19 years ago when he was a 5 month old foal ("bred" by Alois, probably more a case of sire having knocked down fence to get at the mare in heat!). Took the Blip standing at the gate of the field he was born in and where he learnt that fences were no barrier for a hungry foal.
Always nice to be in "Kitzighofen" but time didn't allow us to pop by to see Heidi and Sepp who were also with us at the recent party - would like to see how their major house renovation is getting on.
Back home Angie dragged Sultan out for a ride with the dogs in the evening. Like Daisy Bell, she had some time to mull over her "answer" ....decisions, decisions.
