No up, up and away

This weekend was the annual Strathaven Balloon Festival. We had never been before, so we decided to go yesterday. Unfortunately, there were no air balloons in sight, as the conditions were not right for flying. We went back up tonight and, although the sun was shining, it still was deemed too windy to fly. There was, however, a 'tethered' display of his one balloon. held down by ropes attached to the ground and to two cars, with people holding on to the basket, we saw for ourselves how even what we thought of as a slight breeze was buffeting the balloon and making it unsafe. At one point it started to rise and even pulled one of the cars along!
So no up, up and away this year.
