Strubby airfield 2 World war RAF station.

I went to Stubby because there was a new memorial to squadrons that had been based there during the war.The big draw was prospect of two Lancasters flying over the airfield as well as the Spitfire , Hurricane and at 5 pm the Red arrows. Bumped into others including J and A. The Lancasters flew over our heads quite low,Vera, the Canadian plane ahead then the City of Lincoln. An iconic sight and sound of those four Merlin engines. The event drew an amazing crowd. There was no information about what and where things were happening on the airfield. The spitfire and Hurricane never turned up but the Red arrows arrived at 5 pm when most folk had given up and were on the move.Well worth going, fantastic sight and maybe my blip friend J will post a blip of the planes.xx
