The Iron Bridge
We visited Ironbridge today with our daughter and boyfriend. An enjoyable day out with a walk along the rivers edge to the Jackfield Tile Museum and lunch in a pub by the river.
This shot shows the Iron bridge which opened in 1781, it was the first arch bridge in the world to be made of cast iron, and was greatly celebrated after construction owing to its use of the new material ie iron. The bridge crosses the River Severn in Shropshire.
