Tattered
I had a day's leave so naturally spent it buzzing around like a blue-a*sed fly doing various errands. These included a brief visit to the allotment to keep up with the harvesting and a check on D's mighty pumpkin plant. Then back home to pack up for the weekend - although we'd sensibly decided against camping on this occasion so no need for the tent! It took us about an hour to extricate ourselves from Edinburgh but then had a good run down to the Lake District apart from the occasional burst of monsoon rain. We arrived to find Sue and some of her guests already there and had a pleasant evening eating, drinking and talking. We vaguely recognised some of the guests having all been at the same place ten years ago for her previous big birthday!
As we were packing up the car in Leith I noticed the rather melancholy sight of these tattered red lanterns from the interior of the Chinese restaurant - I fear that their handsome paper dragon will have ended up in the same place.
