The Ice Bucket Challenge

I nipped round to see Rachel & Scarlett this morning before heading home, and when I got there Rach was in her shorts & vest. In light of the awful weather I knew she wasn't sunbathing so I asked if she was going to the gym. But no, she was waiting for me to turn up to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

There are lots of videos being posted on Facebook of people taking part and then nominating their friends and family. Rachel was nominated last night, so Scott was in charge of filming the drenching and I had the pleasure in carrying out the task. This image is a screen shot from the video which has actually come out quite well. She very kindly (or not so kindly) nominated me, but after a 5 hour car journey in heavy rain I will not be throwing a bucket of water over myself when I get home - I'll take the challenge by unpacking the car in the rain!

So our bank holiday has been spent in the car - Alan has done the driving while I've sat in the back with the boys. They've been really good and seem to be traveling a little better, so fingers crossed they're feeling a bit happier about the car. It's been a horrible journey with bad visibility, rain, and surprisingly very heavy traffic!

We left about 11am and it's now 3.45 pm and we've got 16 miles to go - I can't wait to get home. I don't think we'll be traveling on another holiday weekend in a hurry!
