Overdressed For The Beach
What to do on a Bank Holiday Monday? Not in Spain, but it is in Gibraltar, so Jacqui and I and our friends Bob, Sylvia and Katherine all mooched round the coast to Bolonia, which is nothing more than a huge expanse of golden sand and a few chiringiuitos. And some Roman ruins which remain to be investigated on another occasion.
And about a million people.
The Atlantic made a refreshing change for a swim and the wind tanned us fast and blew sand into places we didn't think sand could get.
Along came John, originally from Senegal, but tramping his way cheerfully up and down these beaches for the last eight summers. He took off everything he was carrying so we could choose a throw for our outside sofa, before putting it all back on again and cheerfully tramping back off up the sand.
