Funny stuff, Cumbrian.
I'm a bit of a Dialect nut. (WHISHT YOU)
It only occurred to me tonight that we seem to have 2 pronunciations for "NO".
We'd be as likely to say "Nee" as "No"; on occasions, dependent upon circumstances; or maybe even the odd Scottish/Yorkshire "Nay". As in "NAY, Mr. Wilkes!" which the elder Emmerdale watchers may, just, recognise.
As watchers from the side-lines may be aware the "Clicky-Chippy consortium" were
"holding an open day for our Studio" (Theirs, not mine) at which we were present.
I spotted this lying there, bothering "neebody'' and announced ...
"It can't be nee-where, Ah can see it, theer on t'floor".
